|"The Colts are on the verge of hitting the jackpot in getting Andrew Luck!"|
However, Peyton's dad has already put on the playa hata's custom and he's break dancing. He's not in favor of the Colts taking Luck if they in fact get the first pick. "I don't think it'd necessarily be great for either one," Archie Manning told FOX Sports Radio on Tuesday, according to ProFootballTalk. "I think Andrew's the type of mature player ... he can walk right in. I mean, these other three or four guys that are playing this year, [if] they can walk in and contribute, Andrew can, too."
Archie is exactly right! Andrew can come right in and contribute today. That's why it makes sense for the Colts to draft him and trade Peyton. Take your heart out of it Colts fans. Peyton is going to cost you more than $26 million next year and he's one missed assignment away from ending his career. He's had 3 neck surgeries including his neck being fused. They've got a young left tackle protecting his blind side and your defense is horrible. Well the defense has always been terrible even when they won the Super Bowl. Peyton's offense just always scored more points.
They need to prop Peyton up against the wall in a shiny blue box until April. Dismiss any thoughts that he has of coming back to play this season so that they can get something for him. If you let him play and he gets banged up you can't get anything for him. For the money that he's worth they can reconstruct their defense easily. Archie Manning is speaking from a dad's position and not like a General Manager.
"I used to play with his dad [Oliver]. ... I'm in
Poor Peyton Manning! He's a sure fire Hall of Famer and one of the best to ever play the position but business is business bruh! If Joe Montana can be traded to
Remember when Eli came out of Ole Miss and the Chargers drafted him? It was Archie in the way pulling the strings for him not to sign with them because supposedly Eli didn't want to play for
If the Colts organization hasn't learned anything from this experience they should have learned that they need to have a contingency plan. Putting a team together around Peyton's brain only works if Peyton is on the field. For the past 8 to 10 years every free agent and draft pick they've gotten was hand picked to play with Peyton's brain and not a system. That's why the wheels fell off when the brain when down. You can't afford for that to happen again.
The Colts would be insane not to draft Luck if they're fortunate enough to get the first pick because he is the most NFL ready quarterback to come out in more than 15 years. You gotta take him and trade Peyton Manning!
